Laptop Offer for Online Degree Students
A new laptop — on us. Since launching the laptop program in 2021, UA Grantham has shipped more than 10,000 new laptops to eligible degree students at no extra cost. As one of the online colleges that offer laptops, we’re committed to supporting online students with the tools they need to participate in online learning and complete their coursework.Is University of Arkansas Grantham really giving a laptop to every new student at no extra cost?
Yes, that’s right! New or returning students who enroll now in a degree program will receive a new Lenovo laptop from University of Arkansas Grantham after they begin class — at no additional cost. This initiative aligns with our mission to make education more accessible, and better enable student participation in online classes. By minimizing difficulties associated with substandard technology, we’re making it easier for students to persist and complete their degree program.How do I qualify for the offer?
To qualify for the laptop offer, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Complete the admission process and be admitted to an eligible degree program, including an Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s program. Certificate and non-degree-seeking programs and courses are excluded.
- Enroll and start classes in the next available term within one of UA Grantham’s online programs.
- Provide a valid mailing address within the continental United States (no P.O. Boxes) and be able to sign for delivery. Shipping outside the continental U.S., including Alaska, Hawaii, and military posts abroad, may be unavailable or delayed. International shipping is not available.
When will I receive my laptop?
At the beginning of the second week of classes, laptop ordering instructions are emailed to eligible students who provided a non-P.O. Box mailing address during registration. Students then receive access to the program portal, where they can submit their order for a student laptop. Please allow 1–2 weeks for delivery to U.S. and eligible military addresses only.What are the technical specifications of the laptop?
The laptop provided through the laptop program is a Windows 11 device manufactured by Lenovo (or an equivalent device from another OEM). Standard specs include a 15.6-inch screen, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid-state drive, which are designed to support participation in online classes, completion of coursework, and everyday academic tasks. Students also receive access to Microsoft Office 365 through the student portal.
Technical specifications are subject to change based on availability. While the laptop is suitable for most online learning needs, some assignments in computer science and cybersecurity courses may require access to a more powerful computer, depending on course requirements.
